Carmen Elizabeth Hubbard Rivers, 80, died Friday, December 7, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was a native of Tampa, Florida and lived in Savannah most of her life. She retired as office manager from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company after many years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Midway and was a former member of the Fleming Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for the Faith Sunday School class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wightman Rivers and her sister, Ellen Culberson.
She is survived by her brother, Roy E. Hubbard, Jr, of Richmond Hill, her sister, LaTrelle Galletta, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 9, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Remembrances may be made to First Baptist Church of Midway or the Humane Society of Savannah.
